Fusao Nagareda

Fusao "Fuzzy" Nagareda passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2009 at the age of 81. Born on November 25, 1927, he was part of a close, loving family of five brothers and five sisters born to Yoshio and Shigeru Nagareda. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. Also preceding Fusao in death were his brother Hiromi Nagareda (Betty), sister Susan Shimizu (Ed), sister Bonnie Sakata and brother-in law Tom Okita. Fusao is survived by his sister Tazzie Okita, sister Connie Yamanaka (Ken), sister Judy Yee (Mel), brother Bill Nagareda (Cathy), brother Ken Nagareda (Melinda), brother Harry Nagareda (Linda), brother-in law Hiro Sakata and twelve nieces and nephews.

Edward W. Sargeant

Edward Walter Sargeant passed away at his home in Ridgemark Country Club, August 24, 2009 at the age of 87. Edward was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. His parents Fredrick and Ivy Sargeant settled in the Michigan area where Edward graduated from Green Bay High School. Enlisting early in World War II, he was a Navy medic who saw action in the South Pacific. While attending the University of Minnesota, he met his future wife, Charlotte Jean Vickers. Accepting a Regular Army commission he began a 30 year career training as a pilot and ending in 1979 with the rank of full Colonel. His assignments took him to Korea, Germany, Vietnam, as well as various posts around the United States. Upon retirement, he and his wife worked for Bell Helicopter in Iran for 1 ½ years.

Brijida F. Zepeda entered into rest in Hollister at the age of 98.

Parents were the late Howard & Pearl Buck. David was born & raised in Hollister and graduated from SBJUHS 1970. He served in the Army from 1970-1972. He lived & worked in Madera. David is survived by sisters Kathy Montgomery and Rosemary Garcia and their families, & the family of Leslie & Mary Jane; Thomas, Richard & Bruce Valentine. Private services are being held..

James R. Dobbs

James R. Dobbs entered into rest in Hollister at the age of 77. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas and lived in the Salinas area for many years, moving to Hollister two years ago. He was a retail clerk for many years and past president of his local union where he became the business agent for many years. He married his wife, Joice Dobbs, in 1957 in Salinas and served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In the Air Force he was an interpreter in the Russian language and was a member of The First Baptist Church in Prunedale and a past member of the IOOF Lodge in Pacific Grove.

Marilyn D. Silhanek

Marilyn D. Silhanek passed away May 20, 2008 in Gilroy. She is survived by her husband of 46 years Allen Silhanek Sr. of Gilroy. She was the mother of Allen Silhanek Jr. of Gilroy and Sue Silhanek of Roseville and grandmother of Zachary and Allen Silhanek III. A native of Chicago, Ilinois age 67. Visitation will be Saturday, May 24, 2008 from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
