Shirley Stump 82 years old passed away in Henderson, NV. just 7 weeks following the death of her husband of 35 years Eldon Stump, both of natural causes. Shirley grew up in Ventura, raised her family in the San Martin/Morgan Hill area before retiring to the Boulder City/Henderson, NV area in 1993. She was preceeded in death by her youngest son Jimmy Barber and is survived by her oldest son Douglas Barber and grandaughter Nicole Barber of the Henderson/Las Vegas area. Shirley, while living in the Morgan Hill area, was very active in fund raising for various cancer charities and enjoyed many years of volunteering at St. Judes Ranch. She will be missed by many friends and family. Service will be held on Wednesday January 21 at 2:00 P.M. and the Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City, NV, where she will join Eldon.
Lorraine C. Freitas passed away at her home in Hollister, Tuesday morning at the age of 79. She was born in Hollister and lived here all her life. She attended local schools and graduated from San Jose State College of Nursing and trained at San Francisco and Santa Monica hospitals. She was a registered nurse, a homemaker and a partner in Freitas Orchards with her husband, Bernie, whom she married, May 26, 1957. Lorraine had worked for Dr. Norman Currie as well as Dr. Robert Quinn in Hollister and finished her career with Dr. Barton and Dr. Joyce in Gilroy.
