Jose Ramirez Rivera "Joe", of Lathrop, CA, peacefully passed away on April 30, 2009. Joe was born in Mesilla, NM, on March 18, 1949, to Luz and Santos Rivera. Joe was raised in Morgan Hill and graduated from Live Oak High School where he participated in basketball and track and field. Joe was a United States Army Vietnam era veteran and was a paratrooper who earned his wings as a specialist E-4. Joe received an honorable discharge for his service to his country. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Rivera and four sons, Joe Rivera of Lathrop, Alexis Rivera of Lathrop, Amador Rivera of Lathrop and Anthony Garcia and his wife Senna of Hayward, CA. He was a great husband and an awesome dad who had his sons involved in football, basketball, baseball and martial arts. His favorite sport was basketball and he loved to go fishing in his spare time. He was a huge Giants, Warriors and 49ers fan and enjoyed watching and listening to games. Family and friends are invited to services for Joe on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Road in Morgan Hill. Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Memorial Park, Morgan Hill.
Harry F. Skibbins passed away Tuesday afternoon at the age of 85 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital. Born in Chicago, Illinois, having lived in California for the past 40 years. Harry had been a sales manager for Prudential Insurance for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a radio operator on a B24 in the South Pacific.
Frances Lindeleaf passed away at age 89 on March 9, 2010, at her home in Gilroy . She was preceded in death in 1996 by her husband of 50 years, Ray. They worked together for over 30 years in farming one of the last surviving prune orchards in the Santa Clara Valley. Frances is survived by her loving son Warren Lindeleaf and his partner Ed Hall of Sacramento; niece Carolyn Mendoza of Cottage Grove, OR; and nephews David Larson of Morgan Hill, Jerry Lindeleaf of Fresno, Bob Lindeleaf of Fresno, and Don Lindeleaf of Bend, OR.
