The Gavilan baseball team has charged out of the gate in the early season and in turn earned one of the highest rankings in school history.
The Rams, who are 11-3 heading into today’s 3 p.m. game at Skyline College, are ranked No. 7 in the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association’s March 3 NorCal Poll.
Gavilan is also ranked 20th in the Western State Junior College Region. The rankings, head coach Neal Andrade said are potentially the highest the program has ever received in school history.
The Rams have generated 65 runs and has hit three home runs through 14 games. Gavilan’s pitching staff has also been stellar and has a combined 1.74 ERA so far this season.
The Rams will continue their road trip at noon on March 7 at College of San Mateo. They will return home at 2:30 p.m. March 12 to host Hartnell.
