Residents in Gilroy and Morgan Hill who need assistance with Covered California enrollment will have it this weekend.
A variety of free events are being held throughout the greater bay area. They offer free, in-person assistance to consumers before the March 31 enrollment deadline.
Most the events will have certified enrollment counselors and certified insurance agents available who speak English and Spanish, and many speak multiple languages. Families with mixed immigration status are encouraged to attend and apply for their family members who have satisfactory immigration status. To be eligible for premium assistance, the applicant or applicant’s parent or guardian must file taxes in 2015 for the 2014 tax year.
Last weekend, Covered California enrollment reached more than 1 million, with 1,018,315 people applying for coverage and selecting health insurance plans for themselves and their family members through the state health benefit exchange.
