A Gilroy man turned himself in to police after he allegedly stabbed a Morgan Hill man causing life-threatening injuries.

Santa Clara County sheriff’s investigators will be “wrapping up” a water search this week for Sierra LaMar or any evidence related to the kidnapping case, using new, high-tech sonar detection equipment that they have had access to in previous weeks.

A 62-year-old Morgan Hill woman was found dead inside her trailer at the Thousand Trails RV Park in an unincorporated area near Morgan Hill Thursday afternoon, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office who conducted the investigation. Authorities have ruled out foul play and say Alberta Silva, 62, died from natural causes.

Police arrested a 28-year-old woman on suspicion of causing the hit-and-run accident late last Friday that sent pedestrian Joshua Valdez, 22, to the hospital with numerous broken bones.

Joshua Valdez, the young man who was found lying unconscious near a Morgan Hill intersection with numerous broken bones, remains in a coma following what police think is the result of a hit-and-run accident.
