Farm Bureau scholarship deadline is March 31
The Santa Clara County Farm Bureau, in cooperation with American AgCredit, is offering $5,000 in scholarships for the Fall of 2014. The scholarships are for local high school seniors who plan to major in agriculture and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Awards are based on scholastic achievement, career goals, leadership skills, community involvement, and accomplishments. To be considered for a scholarship, applications must include a completed scholarship form, transcripts, a personal statement, and two letters of recommendation. Applicants are interviewed by a committee of local farmers and ranchers and scholarship recipients will be notified by mail. Farm Bureau will make every effort to present scholarships at each school’s senior awards night and monetary awards will be mailed directly to the recipient’s college or university. Applications must be submitted to the Farm Bureau office by Monday, March 31. Applications must be typed and forms are available electronically by contacting Stacy Mariani at smariani@sccfarmbureau.org.
