Mary C. Mendonca

Mary C. Mendonca, age 94 of San Martin, went to be with her heavenly Father on February 22, 2007. Mary was born in Italy and moved to San Martin at the age of 6. Mary married Arnold Mendonca in 1948 and had a son, Arnold Jr., in 1952. Mary lived the majority of her life in San Martin, CA, before moving to Twin Falls, ID, in 2000, to be with her son and his family. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, and loved to travel. Mary was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lena S. Brand

Lena S. Brand passed away at Mabie Skilled Nursing Center Southside at the age of 96 yrs. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles L. Brand.

Wayne G. Carlson

The angels came to take Wayne to his final home with his Lord on Monday, February 26, 2007, after a year long battle with cancer.

Passed away in Turlock. He was a former resident of Aromas and was the last 10 years in Delhi, CA. Arrangements for private cremation with private inurnment.

Takeshi Shiba, was born in Salinas, CA. Mr. Shiba is survived by his wife, Nori Shiba of San Martin; daughters Vicki Shiba of Mill Valley and Adrienne Miyakusu of Campbell; son Larry Shiba of San Martin; and two grandchildren, Laurel Shiba and Justin Miyakusu.

Myke Lerma

Myke Lerma passed away February 25, 2007. A memorial service will be held in his honor 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 2, 2007 at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 Fourth St., Gilroy.

Maria De La Cruz Prado

Cruzita passed away Feb 18, 2007 in Pajacuaran, Michoacan, Mexico, shortly after suffering a stroke. She was 71 years old. A long time Hollister resident, she worked at San Benito Foods until her retirement. Cruzita is survived by her children: Martha Esther Esquivel and Federico Prado of Hollister, Maria de Jesus Nieves of Los Banos, Liduvina Ochoa and Lupe Zarate of Fresno, Luis Antonio Prado of Delhi and Juan Prado of Sacramento, her sister Elvira Magallon of Mexico, 30 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Esiquio Prado and her mother Elvira Zarate.

Dorothy B. Pippin

Dorothy B. Pippin died in Gilroy. She was born in Taft, CA, and lived in Hollister for many years and in Gilroy for 4 years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, was active in the Lutheran Church, and The Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her three husbands, Elliott Hansen, Gilbert Uht and David Pippin.
