Glen A. Dowdy, born on June 4, 1960 in San Jose, passed away on November 21, 2006 of cancer. He died peacefully surrounded by his family. Glen leaves behind his loving daughters, Nicole and Gabbrielle Dowdy; his parents Carol Dowdy and the late George Dowdy, Jr.; sisters Carrie Dowdy and Linda Smart; niece Megan Smart; and nephews Jason Dowdy and Alan Smart. Glen will be buried in Alpine, CA alongside his father. A memorial will be held at a later date.
Mary Ynegas Castaneda passed away at St. Louise Regional Medical Center on November 20th at the age of 86 years. Mary was a native of Jalisco, Mexico; moved to San Benito County at the age of 5 years, and attended local San Juan Bautista Schools. Mary was a homemaker all her adult life. She enjoyed being around her home and her family; cooking, gardening, and crocheting. She was a member of the Old Mission San Juan Bautista.
Kim Velho Meno died at her home last Friday after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Archie Meno; her children, Jeremy and Stephanie Rourick; her mother and father, Jeanette Whalen and Tony Velho; and her sister Cindy Alnas. Per Kim's request, no services will be held.
Howard Hector Villarreal, age 92, of Eaton, Ohio, died Thursday, November 16, 2006 at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton after a short illness. He was born August 13, 1914 in Starr County, TX, the son of the late Ignacio & Belen (Garcia) Villarreal. He has lived in Eaton since the 1970's and was a retired self-employed Master Carpenter.
Raymond Perez died peacefully at home in Hollister on November 3, 2006 at the age of 59 years. Ray received masters degrees in Nuclear and Mechanical Engineering from UCLA. Prior to moving to the Bay Area to work for Northrop Grumman for the past two decades.
John Torres passed away suddenly at his residence in Sparks, Nevada, on Nov. 12th at the age of 68 years. He was a native of Mountainair, New Mexico and had resided in San Benito County for 50 years before moving to Sparks two years ago.
