James P. Nidey passed away Wednesday afternoon at the age of 56 in Hollister. Born in Indiana, he moved here over 45 years ago. Jim was a welder most of his life, having worked for Gavilan Welding, Casillas Bros. and lastly, at M & M Welding.
Joseph Francis Soares, born in Gilroy, passed away August 18, 2012. He is survived by his wife Judy Soares of Coarsegold, father of Tim (Cheryl) and Ed Soares both originally from Gilroy, grandfather of Will Soares and brother of John, Jr. (DeDe) Soares, Mary (Arthur) Bettencourt, Rosie (Tony) Bettencourt, and Frankie (Robin) Soares, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Soares and brother John Jr.
Marilyn Saxe, a resident of Morgan Hill for 39 years, passed away at home on February 16, 2011, following a struggle over many years with Alzheimer's and cancer.
A memorial service honoring Rev. Virgle Howell will be held at Victory Christian Center, 20215 W. Bloss Avenue, Hilmar, CA, on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 2:00 P.M.
The memorial service to be held, June 17th, 2015, at 11:00 A.M.,at Habing Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to either the Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s Foundation.
A woman of compassion, open-mindedness, a love for nature: beloved mother of Pamelah Stephens of San Jose, Keith Stokes, deceased, Kelly Garcia of San Martin, son-in-law Ted Garcia and step-son Don A. Drake, wife Gail. She is the beloved wife of Donald Drake of Gilroy for 37 years. She passed away peacefully on May 25, 2010. She took great pride in her family and her volunteer work in California State Parks. She was proud to be a fourth generation California native with a family that had always been involved in preserving and caring for nature and working with local and State politics.
