Gilroy police arrests
Delaying or resisting a peace officer
Edgar Pacheco, 19, of the 200 block of Third Street, 12:06 a.m. Sunday, near the intersection of Church and Second streets.
Robbery
Hector Crispin Cruz Chavez, 25, of the 8300 block of Parish Way, 11:50 p.m. Saturday, near the intersection of First and Monterey streets for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, probation violation and conspiracy to commit a crime. Chavez was accompanied by two unknown males who helped him steal a bike and attack three other males while yelling gang-related phrases.
Controlled substance influence
Rogelio Quiroz Jimenez, 34, of the 8300 block of Forest Street, 8:35 a.m. Tuesday, at the California Highway Patrol truck stop on U.S. 101.
Marijuana possession
Andrew James Hyer, 19, of the 1400 block of Welburn Avenue, 3:13 p.m. Tuesday, at 1211 First St. for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Matthew Cuellar Sanchez, 18, of the 800 block of Morningside Circle, 3:13 p.m. Tuesday, at 1211 First St. for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Driving without a license
Fabian Campos Garza, 28, of Hollister, 4:42 a.m. Wednesday, near the intersection of 10th Street and U.S. 101.
Other GPD incidents
Auto burglary
A soccer banner with a blue cross was taken out of a vehicle and set on fire, between 9 p.m. Sunday and 7:20 a.m. Monday. The banner was in a locked 1997 Ford Windstar minivan parked on the 9200 block of Wren Avenue. The suspect or suspects also went through a glove box and console but did not appear to take anything beside the banner.
A stereo valued at $400 was stolen from a green 1993 Honda Accord while parked at Wal-Mart, 7150 Camino Arroyo, between 11 p.m. Saturday and 12:02 a.m. Sunday. The suspect or suspects smashed the driver-side window, causing $110 in damages, to enter the vehicle and caused an additional $300 in damages to the dashboard during the burglary.
A purse was stolen from a white Ford Expedition parked on the 7500 block of Chestnut Street, about 7:20 a.m. Nov. 30. The suspect or suspects broke a window to get into the vehicle.
A stereo, knife and paperwork were stolen from a 1998 Honda Prelude parked outside Best Buy, 7011 Camino Arroyo, between 10 p.m. Saturday and 12 a.m. Sunday. The suspect or suspects also tried to steal the vehicle and damaged the ignition in the process.
Five dollars in change and paperwork were stolen from a blue 1998 Chevrolet in the parking lot of Hertz Rent A Car, 343 W. 10th St., Sunday. The suspect or suspects broke a window to get into the vehicle.
A CD player was taken from a 1992 Peterbilt truck parked on the 5900 block of Obata Way, 9:17 a.m. Sunday.
Vehicle vandalism
A suspect or suspects caused deep scratches on every exterior body panel of a silver 2003 Honda Accord parked on the 300 block of El Toro Way, between 12:01 and 10:15 a.m. Sunday.
Fictitious traveler’s check
A suspect tried to use a fake traveler’s check to buy items at Wal-Mart, 7150 Camino Arroyo, between 11:55 p.m. Saturday and 12:04 a.m. Sunday. When asked for verifying identification by a clerk, the suspect fled.
Fraud
Credit cards and two checkbooks were stolen from an unlocked 2004 Chrysler on the 7000 block of Church Street, between 12:01 and 4 a.m. Saturday. The suspect or suspects then used the credit card before police were contacted.
Brandishing a firearm in threat
A man was near the intersection of East and Old Gilroy streets at 1:27 a.m. Sunday when a black Ford with four Hispanic males pulled up next to him. One Hispanic male pointed a small black revolver at him, threatened him and then fled the scene. The suspects are wanted for possible brandishing of a firearm in threat and participation in a gang.
Battery
A suspect who was in the middle of a fight got into a vehicle and backed it into an unoccupied vehicle owned by somebody who was trying to break up the fight outside Wienerschnitzel, 711 First St., 11:06 a.m. Friday. No arrests were made because it was mutual combat.
Residential burglary
A stereo valued at $100, speakers, CDs valued at $80, DVDs valued at $225, and a lamp valued at $25 were stolen from a house on the 7400 block of Rogers Lane between 2 and 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. The suspect or suspects entered the house through an open rear door.
