The Gilroy Police Department recently responded to a variety of crimes, including first-degree burglary, making criminal threats resulting in grave bodily injury and grand theft. Arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter May 28 through June 4. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
Burglary
-John Vasquez, 26, May 31 at 1:48 p.m. on the 600 block of Leavesley Road for felony first-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, petty theft with prior convictions, petty theft of personal property and felony re-arrest for probation violations.
Domestic violence
-Abraham Torres, 34, May 28 at 6:09 a.m. on the 900 block of First Street for felony infliction of bodily violence on a spouse or cohabitant.
-Rosa Lopez, 30, May 28 at 11:50 p.m. at the Gilroy police station for battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend.
-Rafael Marquez, 35, May 29 at 12:15 p.m. near the intersection of Wren Avenue and La Alondra Way for battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend.
-Adam Cavazos, 33, June 2 at 11:52 p.m. on the 7200 block of Dowdy Street for felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant, felony threats to commit a crime resulting in grave bodily injury and violation of a protective order.
Grand theft
-Jess Maldonado, 37, May 31 at 4:09 p.m. on the 8100 block of Forest Street for felony grand theft of personal property.
-Veronica Martinez, 46, June 3 at 12:54 p.m. near the intersection of Sixth Street and Gilman Road for felony grand theft, felony petty theft with three or more priors, resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer and four charges of possession of a controlled substance.
Driving under the influence
-Maria Cervantes, 46, June 1 at 2:15 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey and Fifth streets.
-Raudel Escalera, 33, June 1 at 3:30 a.m. on the 7300 block of Carmel Street for one charge and driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher.
-Luis Ruiz, 33, June 1 at 7:45 p.m. on the 7300 block of Church Street for one charge, driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher, driving with a suspended license and being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
Multiple charges
-Eric Mendoza, 25, May 28 at 11:01 p.m. on the 7300 block of Eigleberry Street for felony passing of a fictitious check and battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend.
-Jose Lendechy, 36, May 28 at 11:27 p.m. near the intersection of Leavesley Road and Murray Avenue for four felony charges: grand theft of personal property, selling or aiding in the sale of stolen property, possession, receipt or passing of a forged document and possession of a completed check with intent to defraud.
-Brandon Aguirre, 28, May 29 at 8:56 a.m. near the intersection of Forest and E. Eighth streets for driving with privileges suspended or revoked, possession of a controlled substance, driving with expired registration and improper display of license plates.
-Tristan Gutierrez, 26, May 29 at 2:44 p.m. on the 200 block of E. 10th Street for an outstanding felony warrant for a parole violation and being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
-Katrice Maciel, 40, May 30 at 8:37 p.m. on the 6700 block of Camino Arroyo for felony possession of a controlled substance, felony grand theft of personal property and theft.
-Breanna Salgado, 21, June 1 at 2:52 a.m. on the 7400 block of Alexander Street for felony possession of a stolen vehicle and felony participation in a criminal street gang.
