At 10:36 p.m. Monday the Gilroy Police Department responded to a call of shots fired into an occupied room at the King’s Rest Motel at 8175 Monterey St.
According to police, two unknown suspects, one armed with a rifle, fired several rounds through the front window of one of the guest rooms.
Police say several occupants fled the room after the shooting.
Three of these occupants were later located uninjured, according to police.
The other occupants are still outstanding at this time but are not believed to have been injured, police say.
According to the GPD, a preliminary investigation reveals two suspects were involved in the shooting, both who fled on foot to the rear of the motel.
After an extensive area check, neither the rifle or suspects were located, police say.
Police describe both suspects as males between the ages of 20 to 25, having a medium to heavy build and wearing all dark clothing.
“At this time there are not any new developments in the case,” said GPD Sgt. Amanda Stanford in an email sent Tuesday. “It does not appear that all occupants of the room were located/contacted.”
Anyone with information on this incident can contact the GPD at 846-0350 or leave an anonymous tip at 1-800-782-7463.
