The Gilroy girls basketball team has held their last two opponents to just 36 points while scoring 105 of its own. The Mustangs rolled to a 45-16 win at Pajaro Valley Thursday, improving to 10-7 overall, 7-1 in league. Stats from this game were not yet available. Gilroy will take on Alisal at 7 p.m. Tuesday at home for its third to last game of the regular season.
Prep Football: Cougars win 4th straight Severance Bowl
GILROY—Christopher’s Matt Adamkiewicz was one of the first players to reach the Severance Bell and he let it ring for all of Gilroy to hear. The junior QB led his team to it’s fourth straight Severance Bowl victory, reaching the endzone six times both in the air and on the ground en route to a 48-10 win over the Mustangs Friday at Gilroy High.

SOCCER: Gilroy, Christopher girls soccer teams seeded into CCS playoffs
Twenty-four hours after scoring its sixth consecutive Tri-County Athletic League title, the Gilroy High girls soccer team was handed the No. 8-seed into the Central Coast Section Division II playoffs. Meanwhile, Christopher High, which finished runner-up in the Monterey Bay League, drew the No. 12-seed in Div. II.
BASKETBALL: Tempers flare during CHS-North County boys hoops game; Cougars win 67-25
No love was lost on the court between the Christopher High and North Monterey County boys basketball teams, as a tense, albeit brief benches-clearing scuffle delayed the game for about 15 minutes midway through the second quarter of a Cougars 67-25 victory over the Condors in Monterey Bay League action Friday night.
TENNIS: Christopher edges Monte Vista Christian, 4-3
Christopher High’s No. 3-doubles duo of Matt Lombardo and Nate Norman may or may not have known when the first ball was served that the outcome of Thursday’s dual with Monte Vista Christian hinged on the result of their match.
