                    Hanna Tabron scored 20 points, sister Olivia Tabron added 12 points, and Christopher’s girls basketball team cruised to a 51-37 victory over San Mateo in the consolation bracket semifinals of the Del Mar Tournament on Friday.

                    Edwin Galeanna scored a goal to lead Christopher’s boys soccer team to a 1-0 win at Monterey on Thursday in a Monterey Bay League opener.                
                
            THURSDAY ROUNDUP: Regular season concludes for GHS baseball, softball and CHS softball
                    Gilroy High’s softball team’s regular-season finale was spoiled by walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh in a 5-4 road loss to Salinas on Thursday.                
                
            Prep Football: Cougars drop league opener to Palma 35-14
                    GILROY—Interim Cougar coach Aaron Bembry gave his players a challenge at halftime. He told them they could either pack it in or show Palma their true character. They gave him an answer almost immediately and emerged as a different team in the second half. But unfortunately for the home team, it ran out of time and fell 35-14 Friday to the Chieftains.

                    MORGAN HILL—In the first set of Thursday’s match at Live Oak, Christopher couldn’t get that final point to take a 1-0 lead.                
                
            Hoops Roundup: CHS boys nearly stun Palma, drop heartbreaker
                    Jack Tardieu’s driving layup just before the final buzzer lifted Palma’s boys basketball team to a 56-54 victory at Christopher on Monday night.
