GILROY—Xavier Smith knocked down a shot as the clock faded out on Friday’s home finale against Seaside—and the gym went into a frenzy. 

GILROY — The Mustangs didn’t just snap their four-game losing streak, they shattered it.

The Gilroy High boys volleyball team triumphed in straight sets for the fourth consecutive Tri-County Athletic League Valley Division match, beating host Alisal 25-18, 25-17 and 25-13 on Tuesday night in Salinas.

Taylor Slattery, Samantha Gonzalez and Jackie Gomez each scored to lift Gilroy High’s girls soccer team to a 3-0 win at Salinas on Tuesday.
