The Christopher volleyball team's hot streak is still burning.

GILROY — The Christopher girls basketball team is spreading the love this Valentine’s Day.

GILROY—The big swings from Ally Foster and Olivia Tabron had Christopher fans going wild, but there was another Cougar in the middle that made her presence known Tuesday night: Khaya Price.

The Christopher girls golf team was holding its breath as the final scores were tallied. A collective sigh of relief could be heard as the Cougars (6-0) won their closest match of the year, a 283-290 win over Salinas at home Monday. Christopher Natalie Gutierrez and Salinas High's Madison Chapman tied for medalist honors, both shooting a 47. Gutierrez and Chapman both had multiple pars in the match. Nina Velez shot a 54 for the Cougars, while Alex Granados shot a personal best of 57.  Christopher will be back in action at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pacific Grove.  

Christopher High wrestler Jimmie Lopez won the 108-pound title in the 49th Overfelt Classic on Saturday in San Jose.

For the first half, Live Oak played up to Gilroy’s challenge.

Two Gilroy High girls soccer players are scheduled to sign with Division I college programs Wednesday in a ceremony at Garcia-Elder Sports Complex.

GILROY—Christopher and Monte Vista Christian needed an extra quarter to decide the winner of Friday’s heated league contest. But it was the Mustangs who came out on top, handing the Cougars a heartbreaking 78-71 overtime loss at Christopher High.

Christopher and Monterey went to battle Tuesday, but had to settle for the tie.

GILROY—Christopher didn’t let the howling, punishing wind and the overcast skies rain on its parade.
