New gadgets shown off at electronics show
Each new year brings the introduction of new products at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. And several MHAT-19 members attended this year's show to see the latest in high-tech gadgets. What really stood out at the CES 2012 show was the amazing high-tech advances making television sets smarter and more Internet friendly electronic devices.

Aspen conjures up visions of a glitzy playground where the well-heeled hang out and enjoy the high life. That is an absolutely true vision.
Cricket and car shows
On a recent Sunday afternoon, a group of us followed the Wine Trail of Santa Clara Valley and stopped in at Kirigin Cellars, which has been making wine on the property since 1916. There are so many things to love about Kirigin Cellars: to start with, their expansive property comprises rolling vineyards, over 1000 rose bushes and 100 sequoia redwoods.
W.E.R.C. animal of the month: Red-Tailed Hawk Nursed Back to Health
The animal patients arriving at the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center range from those needing "outpatient care," such as a small bird that perhaps flew into a window and suffered a minor concussion, to orphaned babies that require weeks or months to mature, to severely injured animals that need acute care and remain in our sanctuary for a long period of recuperation and treatment. All of these animals require dedication and expertise from W.E.R.C.'s staff and volunteers, but the long-term patients require the animal equivalent of a convalescent home.
