Youth performers sought for ‘Addams Family’ musical
The San Benito Stage Company is in search of teens to perform in its upcoming musical comedy, “The Addams Family.”
All aboard! Garden Railroad Tour set for Saturday, Aug. 16
Garden railroaders are sounding the whistle for everyone to climb aboard the annual Garden Railroad Tour winding through Gilroy, Morgan Hill and Hollister Aug. 16. The tour, in which train enthusiasts open their homes to collect food for the hungry in local communities, is presented by the Bay Area Railroad Society and South County Railroaders.

‘Oliver’: Dark, well-done fun
Lionel Bart took Charles Dickens’ story, “Oliver Twist,” and wrote the music, lyrics and book to this tale that combines tragedy and joy. “Oliver” premiered in the West End in London in 1960 and ran successfully on Broadway in 1963 with many tours and revivals. “Oliver’s” music can be haunting and enjoyable. An excellent movie version was released in 1968 directed by Carol Reed.

Possibly, we can exclude world hunger from the list of things I can solve. And world peace may be too lofty a goal for me. And I may not cure any diseases. But trust me when I say, I can move mountains by inventing one thing: The sarcasm font.
