Police are looking for two suspects who allegedly robbed the Citibank in downtown Morgan Hill at gunpoint Friday morning.
Morgan Hill Police were dispatched to a call reporting an armed robbery about 10 a.m. at the bank at 17085 Monterey Road, according to Sgt. Shane Palsgrove.
A single suspect inside the bank was described as a Hispanic male adult, 5-feet 8-inches tall with a medium build. He entered the bank wearing a black ski mask, black gloves, a light gray sweatshirt and light gray pants.
The suspect jumped over the counter and held the bank teller at gunpoint while demanding money, police said. The suspect was armed with a black semiautomatic handgun.
A second suspect was waiting outside the bank in a stolen gray Jeep Grand Cherokee, Palsgrove said.
The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the bank, and fled the scene westbound on West Fifth Street, police said.
The suspects did not harm any bank employees or customers, police said.
Video surveillance equipment inside Citibank captured footage of the incident, police said.
“The bank employees and customer did exactly what police would hope for in a situation like this,” Paslgrove said. “The cooperated with the suspect’s demands for money and allowed him to leave. Property and money are replaceable – people are not.”
