For the sixth straight year, the Gavilan volleyball team is headed to the playoffs. 
The Rams picked up a decisive 3-0 win over Canada College Thursday in their home finale to secure its trip to the California Community College Athletic Association NorCal playoffs. Gavilan won 25-10, 25-20, 25-16.
Gavilan evenly dispersed the offensive workload between the team, but was led by Ryan Asp with nine kills. She also picked up 19 digs in the game. Both Alexia Balistreri and Savanna Hartman added seven kills. Hartman also had seven digs while Balistreri had two blocks. 
Raelynn Heredia had 15 assists, while Lissette Pedraza had 14. 
Gavilan (13-11 overall, 7-4 in conference) will play its regular season finale at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Coast Conference-South leader Foothill. The Owls are a perfect 9-0 in conference play, 19-5 overall. 
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
College of San Mateo edges Gavilan
Gavilan’s game with the College of San Mateo came down to a single point. 
Despite leading by seven at halftime, the Rams fell 69-68 to the Bulldogs Friday in San Mateo. 
Felicia Lee-Cardenas had a career-high 23 points in the game, in addition to seven rebounds, six assists, five steals and two blocks. 
Natalia Armstrong recorded a double-double, posting 14 points and 10 rebounds as well as three assists and three steals. Kelsey Caudill added 10 points, four rebounds and four steals. 
Freshman point guard Brittany Valdez chipped in, too. She had eight points and nine rebounds in the game.
Gavilan (1-3 overall) will be back in action at 5 p.m. Thursday to play at Feather River College in Santa Rosa. 
MEN’S SOCCER
Rams end with a tie
The Gavilan men’s soccer team ended its season with a 2-2 tie against Monterey Peninsula College Friday in Monterey. 
Stats from this game were not yet available. 
The Rams finish 2-14-4 overall, 1-10-2 in conference play.
