Request your absentee ballot
Gilroy – Tuesday is the last day for Santa Clara County voters to request an absentee ballot by mail. After the deadline, they can be obtained at the Registrar of Voters’ Office, 1555 Berger Dr., Building 2, San Jose.
All requests must be received no later than 5pm Tuesday (postmarks not accepted). Applications are available on the back cover of the Sample Ballot and online at www.sccvote.org.

Golf tournament
Gilroy – Advance registration is now under way for the annual Special Friends Golf Tournament (formerly known as the Gavilan Special Olympics Tournament). The four-person scramble tournament is scheduled for Friday, June 2, with a 12pm shotgun start at Gilroy Golf Course, 2695 Hecker Pass Highway. $100 donation. Participants must be at least 21 years old.

Art of Living comes to Gilroy
Gilroy – The Art of Living course lasts six days. Students of the Art of Living course say the breathing technique can bring greater awareness and less stress.
The Art of Living chapter has just started its programs in Gilroy, beginning Thursday, June 1 to Tuesday, June 6. They are also doing a free “Science of Breath Seminar” at the Gilroy library today and Saturday from 2 to 3pm.
