Jeanne Loustau DeRosa

Jeanne (Jan) DeRosa, the Community has lost a caring friend to many. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Bertrand and Gabrielle Loustau and her sister, Laurette Loustau Cannon. She is survived by her niece, Patricia (Cannon) Shields, her husband, Michael and her precious grand-niece, Michaela, age 10 and grand-nephew, Cole, age 8, nephew, Michael Cannon, brother-in-law, Philip Cannon, and numerous cousins.

Lowell D. Brawley

Brawley, Lowell Donald, also known as LD, passed away on June 9, 2009 after a long illness. He was born in Ardmore, OK on January 26, 1935. In the spring of 1936, the family moved to California and he attended Morgan Hill elementary schools and graduated from Live Oak in 1955 where he was active in the FFA. After graduation, he went to work as a crane operator for BG Manufacturing in Gilroy. When BG closed Lowell went into farming on his own throughout the Santa Clara Valley and in Hollister. He raised prunes, walnuts, cucumbers, and grapes. He became known as the "Cucumber King" when he grew cucumbers in bottles. He also began his own commercial tractor business. In 1963, he began working for Morgan Hill Unified School District as a custodian and retired after 33 years as a transportation assistant. Lowell served as a volunteer fireman and was a member of several organizations including Morgan Hill Junior Chamber of Commerce, Moose Lodge, Farm Bureau, Fish & Game Club, and the Morgan Hill Historical Society.  His fondest memories are his time with the fire department and the monthly meetings of the Historical Society. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Dora and Grady Brawley and brother Byron. He is survived by his brother Gary (Linda) Brawley of Peoria, AZ, sister-in-law Angie Brawley of San Jose, nephew Gary Matthew (Tiffany) of Peoria, AZ, niece Jodi of Boise, ID, great-nephews Joshua and Nathan Brawley and great-niece Macy Brawley of Peoria, AZ and many close friends in the Morgan Hill area. Services are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M., visitation begins at 8:30 A.M., on June 17, the Reverend Tim Howe officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Morgan Hill Historical Society or the First Baptist Church of Gilroy.

Frank George Le Piane

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, and a niece and nephew. Frank is survived by his loving wife Annie Le Piane of 36 years, brother Vincent, his sons; Mike of Gilroy, Jimmy of Paso Robles, David of Gilroy, and daughter Sondra, also of Gilroy, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, many brother and sister in-Iaws, and numerous nieces and nephews. The many friends and especially his best friend, Jim Fortino, of Gilroy, who was always there for him.

William Albert Moore, Jr.

William Albert Moore, Jr. passed away suddenly at his home in Gilroy on June 14, 2007.

Eva Holback

Entered into rest at the age of 94 in Gilroy, CA on September 15, 2009. Preceded in death by husband Kenneth (Jake) Holback. Beloved mother of Barnard (Ben) and Luke. Eva was a loving mother-in-law to Florence, a grandmother to Sam (Kelly), Ken (Dulce), Ben (Michelle) and Ashley, a great-grandmother to Michael, Zachary, Jessica, Jake and Madison, and an aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Paul James Staudenmaier

Paul passed away peacefully in his Morgan Hill home. Paul was born in Sacramento, grew up in Tracy, and settled in Morgan Hill, for the rest of his life. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving his country for 20 years in the Navy. After military retirement, he worked at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), and actively served his community by founding the South County Neighborhood Disaster Preparedness Project (SCNDDP) in Morgan Hill. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Staudenmaier; daughters, Anna Buck, Marcella Robinson and Paige Staudenmaier: his sister, Marjorie Philpott, and son-in-law, Cory Robinson. A Funeral Service will take place on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of his life at Ragoots Restaurant, both in Morgan Hill. A private burial will take place on June 29, 2009. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paul's memory to the Stanford Cancer Center or Hospice of the Valley.

Grace M. McClellan Twight Richmond

Grace passed away on Saturday at her home in Morgan Hill, CA at the age of 71. Grace was a life long resident of Morgan Hill, and is survived by her husband of 15 years, Robert Richmond, her two sons; Joe (Elaine) Twight, and George (Vickie) Twight, her brother, Mack (Linda) McClellan, her sister, Angie McClellan, 7 granddaughters; Amanda, Georgia, Apryl, Melissa, Amber, Kimmy, and Karen, and 2 great-grandchildren; Rilea and Pryce. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Irving J. Twight and her mother, Angie Carter.
