A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 11:00 A.M., at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, located at 870 San Benito Street in Hollister, CA. The service will be followed by intombment at Calvary Cemetery in Hollister. A reception will be held at the St. Benedict’s Church hall immediately following the services. Louise Galdos Branum passed away in Hollister at the age of 101 on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Louise was a native of Amador, CA and had been a resident of San Benito County since 1925.
Theodore E. Bond died November 25, 2006 at St. Louise Hospital in Gilroy. He was born in Towanda, Kansas and moved to Davis, California with his parents in 1936. He and Freda Blaettler were married on Aug. 29, 1942. He served three years in World War II and received a Bronze Star for service above and beyond the call of duty. Upon his return he completed his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering at U.C. Berkeley. He also earned a Masters Degree at Iowa State University and a Doctor of Engineering degree from U.C. Davis. He worked for thirty one years with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He traveled to many under developed countries around the world in regard to animal and human habitation. He encouraged the use of solar heating and also methods making animals more comfortable in warm countries. A joy of his life was jazz music. Ted played guitar in jazz bands over six decades. He will be missed for his quiet and gentle ways by his family and friends. Mr. Bond was a member of Gilroy Elks, SIRS and Gilroy Historical Society. His wife of 64 years, Freda Blaettler and sons Steven (Shari) Bond of Berkeley and Alan (Elaine) Bond of Oakland and grandchildren, Jesse Bond of Santa Cruz, and Maggie and Hannah Bond, loved him dearly. He also is survived by three nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister Veronica Doane and a brother Fred Groeley
Arthur Warren Jones passed away Monday afternoon at his home in Hollister at the age of 92. Born in Los Alamitos, California, he came to Hollister 11 years ago. Arthur served in the U.S. Navy for 24 years as a test and transport pilot during World War II and the Korean War. Arthur retired as a Lt. Commander. Mr. Jones also worked in the San Francisco school district for 18 years and retired as an industrial arts teacher. He was a member of the San Benito County Farm Bureau. He was the husband of Gloria Jones of Hollister and father of Teresa Brennan, husband, Don, of Hollister, Jeffrey Jones, wife, Trish, of Valley Springs, CA. and Maria DeBenedetti, of San Ramon,CA, grandfather of Marissa Brennan, Brett Brennan, Anna Jones, Russell Jones, wife, Lori, and Jack DeBenedetti, also survived by a great-granddaughter, Isabella Jones, all residing in California.
Passed away at home after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Guadalupe Haro, father of Maria Gaeta, Trini Franco, Anita Armas, Toni Ferreira, Baltazar Haro Jr., Sara Avila, Pascual Haro, Jorge Haro, Ralph Haro and the late Francisco Haro and Ramiro Haro. He was a grandfather of 34, great-grandfather of 42 and great-great grandfather of two. He was the brother of Nicolas Haro, Guadalupe Haro, Salvador Haro, Ninfa Loera and the late Refugio Haro, Enedina Carrillo and Consuelo Ayon . Baltazar is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Born in San Martin de Bolanos, Jalisco, MX, he moved to Gilroy in 1968 and was a retired cattle rancher.
