Robert C. (Bob) Angell

Robert C. "Bob" Angell, a space technologist for T.R.W. in Sunnyvale, CA, passed away from a very short illness at Stanford Medical Center on December 6th at the age of 78 years. Bob and his wife Dorothy were born in Providence, RI. They lived within a block of one another on the same street and never realized that one day they would meet and be married; 56 years this Dec. 27th. Bob and Dorothy moved to Hollister in 1980 and shared very active lives together. Bob was a member of Ridgemark Golf & Country Club, and until last month, was able to "shoot" his age with regularity. He served as President and Vice-President of the Mens Group; Tournament and Handicap Chairman; a recipient of multiple "Player Of The Year" awards"; a member of SIRS, Bolado Park Golf Club, Monterey Seniors, and an annual volunteer at the AT&T at Pebble Beach. Was a Senior Olympian who played hockey as a youth, as a collegian, and Semi-Professional, playing competitively until 60 years of age. He played in the senior olympics at the Charles Schultz Empire Arena in Santa Rosa. He and his two brothers shared the same front line and still hold their high schools hockey scoring records. Bob served in the Honor Guard with the U,S. Navy in Washington, D.C. during WWII. Besides his wife Dorothy, Bob is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Robert and Teresa Angell of Danville; daughter Susan Angell of Long Beach; grandchildren Leilani and Michelle Angell of Danville; nephew Charles Angell; nieces Linda Burden, Donna Angell, and Ellen Naber, all of California, and the family dog, "Peaches". His brothers Howard and Mort Angell have passed away.

Christy Renz Bonetti

Kindred spirit, Christy, left our world for a happier one on December 24, 2006. Never a thought for herself, she worried most about the feelings of her family and friends and the many others that are suffering from cancer.

Larry Ray Contreras

Larry Contreras, 58, passed away peacefully on Aug. 16th in Hollister after a brief illness. Larry was a devoted husband to Eva, his wife and partner of 30 years, and a caring dad to John Duran. Larry is also missed by his dog Deebs and his cat Jimmy. He was a employee of IBM for 27 years at the time of his passing. Larry and his wife Eva bought their dream home in Hollister in 1999 and Larry loved his new community. As a talented artist, he painted many beautiful images of his new community, including the Mission San Juan Bautista. Larry joined the San Benito County Art League, and served as their treasurer during his tenure. A faithful San Francisco Forty Niners fan, Larry loved to watch the games on TV. He was also an avid reader and was reading the latest Harry Potter book at his passing. He was a passionate and opinionated man and had strong feelings about the direction that the leadership of our country was taking. Larry was opposed to the war in Iraq. Larry is survived by his twin sister Jeanne and her husband Mark Juarez, niece and nephew; Julie and Mark Jr., brother Ron, and father Charles. Larry is also loved by his extended family, Jose and Juanita Guevara, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, his brother-in-laws; Louie, Alfonso and Jorge, his sister-in-laws; Juana and Erika, his nephews and nieces; Poncho, Adam, Alejandra, Veronica, Tristan, Nathaniel, and Dominique. (nephew Louie Jr. predeceased him).

Maria H. Haro

Maria H. Haro peacefully passed away at her home Saturday, February 16, 2008. She was the wife of Emilio A. Haro of Gilroy, mother of Sergio Haro, Angelberto Haro, Yolanda Garcia (Enrique), Irma Torres (Rodney), Evangelina Haro and Manuel Haro, grandmother of Angel, Matthew, Lucas Anthony, Teresa, Alexandria, Susan, Deanna and Angelica. She was the youngest sister of 2 sisters and 5 brothers in Mexico. A native of San Julian, Jalisco, MX. Mrs. Haro moved to Gilroy from her native home in 1961. She worked at Gilroy Foods for more than 30 years, and was a very active member of St. Mary Parish. She was also very proud to earn her citizenship in 1996.

Jose Luis Alfaro, Jr. September 22, 1973 – February 9, 2012

Jose Luis Alfaro (Little Jose) passed away on Feb. 9, 2012, Thursday at 4:00 P.M. surrounded by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Trinidad and Theresa Valdez and Wencelao and Adelina Alfaro. He was the first born grandchild for both families.
