Orlaine Tavares Franklin passed away in Hollister at the age of 88. She was born in Porterville, CA and came to Hollister in 1927. She was the daughter of James and Doris (Duncan) McDonald. She married her husband, Vaughn Franklin, in Hollister in 1996 and was predeceased by her first husband, Elmer Tavares. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who found her greatest joy in her many friends. She worked for San Benito County for many years and retired in 1983 after two terms as San Benito County Treasurer/Tax Collector and was named San Benito County Woman of the Year. After retirement she devoted her time to volunteering for the Hazel Hawkins Hospital Auxiliary Thriftshop contributing over 25,000 volunteer hours.
Bob Thompson passed away at his home on February 16, 2017, after a truly heroic battle with cancer. He was a dedicated and respected teacher at Live Oak High School for 38 years, retiring in 1997.
Barry Mullen passed away on September 28, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Barry was 65 and retired from the Morgan Hill School District after about 18 years of service. He served overseas with the U.S.Navy during the Vietnam war.

Jim Harnden passed away January 16th at Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy, CA after a 6 month battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Lynda; sister Leola Rogers of Phoenix, AZ, sister Dorothy Griffin of Jenks, OK; and sister Hazel Buehler of Versailles, MO. He was preceded in death by his mother Effie Mae Hodges and father James Howard Harnden of Rogersville, MO. Jim was born in Cabool, MO.

Tomi Terasaki, as she was lovingly known, went home to be with the Lord on November 6th at the age of 72 years. Tomi was a native of Niigata, Japan ,who came to the United States in December of 1954 and to San Benito County in 1960. Tomi retired from Teledyne McCormick Selph as the Lead Person of the Manufacturing Department after 33 years of service to Teledyne. Her family stated that " besides being a great mother and a great grandmother, Tomi always cared about others, rather than placing herself first". She was the beloved spouse of the late Ryo Terasaki who died August 6, 1994. She was the loving mother of Tatsuya Mike Terasaki (Spouse Teresa Kay) of Glendale; and Theresa Natt (Husband David) of Oregon, devoted grandmother to Briana and Micah Teresaki and Akemi and Ryoko Natt. She is survived by other family members living in Southern California and Japan. Friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday morning at 10 A.M. at the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St., Hollister. Private cremation will follow with interment at Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier, CA.
