Dale C. Smith, passed away on 5/29/08. A native of San Jose, CA. Dale was a loving father who enjoyed country living. He is survived by his wife Lynne and children Lori, Tim, and Dana. A gathering of friends and family will be held June 14, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. 17821 Pesante Rd. Salinas, CA. Dale will be deeply missed.
On December 8th, Anthony J. Escover passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. A California native, Anthony was not only a successful Engineer, but also an accomplished farmer. He graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory and received a mechanical engineering degree from Santa Clara University.
Long time Hollister resident Eileen Bourdet passed away suddenly at her residence on January 15th at the age of 86 years. Eileen was a native of Montana and has resided in San Benito County since 1985. She was a graduate of Montana State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education. While working for the University's English Department Head at Montana State, she met her husband to be, Gene Bourdet. As a teacher at Boseman High School in August 1945 she and Gene were married. Besides being a homemaker, Eileen devoted her life to helping and serving others through her active participation in Hospice; Fishes & Loaves; the Food Bank; Hazel Hawkins Hospital Auxilary, as a very active worker at the Christmas Bazzar and Luncheon; and as a Eucharistic Minister on behalf of the Catholic Community of San Benito County, visiting the patients at Mabie Southside Nursing Center. She was happy belonging to a Small Faith Group at St. Benedict/Sacred Heart Church. In addition to her husband Gene, Eileen is survived by her children Linda Hurless of Casper, WY; James Bourdet (Susan) of Jefferson, OR; Barbara Nolan (Steve) of Granite Bay, CA; Michael Bourdet of Encinitas, CA; and Janet Bourdet of Ontario, Canada; 6 grandchildren; brothers, John Olson (Katy)and James Olson (Joan) of MT; a sister Cecilia Winters (Harry) of San Rafael; sister-in-law Janice Rose (late George Sr.) of Hollister and brother-in-law Leonard Bourdet (Becky) of Fresno; and several nieces and nephews.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father and grandfather. Javier was the devoted husband of 31 years to Romelia, loving father of Javier Jr. (Amie), Erik, Veronika and wonderful grandfather of Natalie and Yazmeen. Javier was born in Juarez, Mexico in 1952 and moved to San Jose as a child before living his final years in Gilroy. He was an Honorable Marine, followed by an expert welder at FMC before retiring from the City of San Jose in 2000. He is preceded in death by his father, Pascual and brother, Alfredo Tovar. He is survived by his mother, Herminia and brother to three sisters, three brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
Rosary service will be held Sunday November 6, 7 P.M. at Habing Funeral Home. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 7, 10 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Roy Michelini was born October 14, 1932 and passed away peacefully in his sleep at home surrounded by family on the morning of October 31, 2016. Roy leaves the love of my life, his wife of 58 years, Patricia, and six children: Kevin, Kelly Ramirez (Pete), Dina Buyak, Dan (Kriste), Laura Caffo (Marc), and Libbey (Kevin). He also leaves behind his granddaughter, Crystal Monasmith (Chris) and 15 additional grandchildren. Roy was known as a great man. He leaves a legacy of love of family and friends, compassion for others, especially those less fortunate. He welcomed all into his home and heart, touching the lives of many, and will be missed not only by family but by all those who knew him.
