Hobby Lobby celebrated their grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration event with friends, family, staff and Christine Giusiana, president/CEO of the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce, Chamber staff and ambassadors, as well as Steve Canet, Morgan Hill store manager. Fuzio becomes The Good Fork

Maurizio Cutrignelli recently closed Fuzio and has now opened a new restaurant in the same location called The Good Fork, a California bistro bar and grill. The menu includes California cuisine with a European flare, using farm to table vegetation from local farmers. Shawn Paul is the Executive Chef of The Good Fork and has a long career in the culinary industry; he has gained valuable experience working for premier Bay Area and New York restaurants including Bistro Jeanty, 1300 on Fillmore, Paladin and Chez Papa Bistro in addition to stints at Michelin-rated restaurants in France and England. GVA Café celebrates grand opening

Friends, family, Chamber of Commerce staff and ambassadors, and owner Rene’ Carrillo celebrated the grand opening of the downtown coffee house and cafe’ with music, food and an antique car display. Kim Gaxiola attends summit in Chicago

Kim Gaxiola, of Gaxiola Financial Group in Morgan Hill, recently participated in the Cambridge Retirement Plan Summit in Chicago, Ill. Kim was invited by her broker-dealer, Cambridge Investment Research, Inc., to attend this event focused on helping rep-advisors build their retirement plan practice. Nearly 50 rep-advisors from across the country gathered together to share best practice ideas with their peers, gain insight from industry experts and engage with sponsors. This event is just one example of Cambridge's dedication to helping advisors learn and grow by providing opportunities for financial professionals to continually enhance their knowledge in the retirement industry in order to provide disclosure and education to their existing clients and help acquire new business.

Ribbon cutting for photography business

The Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce arrived for LMP's formal ribbon cutting, to coincide with her art exhibit reception on May 31 at the Morgan Hill Cultural & Community Center. The wonderful staff of MHCC brought giant scissors to cut the ribbon and had it signed by all 50 guests. Lots of support in the community to help Lori celebrate her photography business in the South Bay Area focusing on pets & families in a timeless classic tradition with flair. A slideshow presentation was provided for everyone of Lori's work, a video with her dad and mentor, who has been a photographer for 63 years, as well as storytelling on how photography can have so much meaning for those we love.

New gymnastics location in Morgan Hill

California Sports Center (CSC) celebrates its 25th anniversary with the grand opening of a new gymnastics facility in Morgan Hill, its seventh facility in San Clara County. The facility 16959 Monterey Road in Morgan Hill, will be completely renovated and equipped with all new state-of-the-art equipment. The 6,000 square foot gym will be home to both boys and girls ages from 18 months to 18 years old. CSC will provide preschool, recreational and team classes for the children and families in Morgan Hill and surrounding areas. The programs will teach how to perform level appropriate routines, just like a competitive gymnast where students enjoy a “Gold Medal Day” graduation every eight weeks where they earn the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned in front of a live audience of friends, family and staff.

The Barn at Hoey Ranch grand opening

On June 21, the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce helped celebrate the opening of The Barn at Hoey Ranch with owners, Jim and Debbie Hoey. Known to rise before daylight and travel to remote parts of the state, the Hoey’s have stocked their barn with unique and one-of-a-kind indoor and outdoor treasures they have discovered on their trips. Visit the Barn, 2480 Hecker Pass Road in Gilroy, Friday, Saturday and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
