Two men died after their motorcycles collided west of Morgan Hill.

A 19-year-old San Jose man was traveling northbound on Uvas Road north of Oak Glen Avenue on a 2002 Honda CBR900 at an unknown speed when he crossed the Llagas Creek Bridge about 7:35 p.m. Monday. A 29-year-old Hayward man riding a 2005 Suzuki GSXR750 at 40 mph in the opposite direction under-steered north of the bridge, allowing his vehicle to cross the solid double yellow lines into the northbound lane. The 19-year-old was in the extreme left hand portion of the northbound lane and the two motorcycles collided.

The 29-year-old was ejected into the roadway and sustained fatal injuries. The 19-year-old was ejected from his motorcycle and hit an oak tree, also sustaining fatal injuries. The 19-year-old’s bike then careened off the road into a fence.

Alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash. Driver inexperience is being investigated at this time.
