When my mom turned 17 in 1952, my grandparents decided it was time for her to leave home. They signed her up for business school and dropped her off at the local Greyhound bus station. Overnight, her world changed from the rural Comanche family farm where she had grown up to the big city of things she had never experienced before.

Independence Special: We’ve got kitties coming out of our ears!  In addition to this year’s kittens, we have some kittens from last year (now teen-agers) and the previous year (now adults).  Our FOSMAS Board of Directors approved an “Independence Special" reduced adoption fee for the month of July only.  FOSMAS adult cats (18 months and older) get their independence for only $17.76!   Please visit our website http://www.fosmas.org to see our adoptable adults.    They are currently in foster homes or in our permanent adoption centers while they wait for their forever homes.  We’ll have some at our adoption fairs, too.
