Over the years, I’ve believed my biggest Thanksgiving challenge, short of buying a second fridge, was finding a water-tight vessel large enough to hold a brining turkey the size of a Shetland pony within its confines for two entire days prior to Thanksgiving.

We would like to tell you about our dog, Rusty. He is an English cocker spaniel and he came to us four years ago in a terribly neglected state. He has become a huge part of our family and we all adore him terribly, he even now goes on vacations with us.

Barren and desolate. Subtract a few gambling meccas from Nevada, and most of what is left can fairly be described as barren and desolate.

“Why are we continuing to build and we're in a drought? I got my water bill today and it said ‘drought alert.’ Why would the city allow people to keep building houses so they can spread what little water we have for the community members who live here to use? As a tax paying community member, I'm not happy about that. If we're in a drought, don't add more people. We need to get some fresh people in there making the decisions. They need to halt all that building.”

Grant Bennett has accepted a position as senior pastor at First Baptist Church in Gilroy. He and his wife, Meghan, along with their young daughter Abby will move to Gilroy at the end of the month, and Grant will conduct his first service at 10:45 a.m. June 1.
