Andrew Munro, Jr. of Morgan Hill, CA (Formerly of Valley Stream, NY) passed away suddenly on 6/8/10 at the age of 62. Andy was the beloved son of Margaret and the late Andrew Munro, Sr. and the loving brother of Lynne Munro. Andy graduated from Hofstra University and Texas A & M and spent many years in the computer industry working for Exclaim Technologies, Inc., Sybase Inc., Intel Corp., and more than 25 years with IBM Corp. Gilroy Garlic Festival Volunteer for many years. Mateo "Matt" Tijerina, aged 80 years, passed away at his residence, November 6th with his family by his side. Matt as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, was a native of Sabinal, TX; was educated in Texas, and moved from Texas to Hollister 50 years ago. Matt worked in the wine industry for 25 years with Almaden Vineyards and upon his retirement, started his own landscaping business. He enjoyed being with his wife and family; the out of doors gardening and fishing, as well as watching the 49-ers, Giants, and A's games. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Teamsters local union in Fresno; had been a volunteer fireman for the City Of Hollister for eight years; was very active in the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah's Witnesses, and was devoted to sharing the gospel with others. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Santos Tijerina of Hollister; his children and their spouses Anita Correa of Hollister; Rosalinda Howard (Joe) of Santa Cruz, Gilbert Tijeina (Debbie) of Sacramento, David Tijerina (Lisa) of Morgan Hill, and Velia Dozal of Hollister. 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, his brother Benito Tijerina (Margo), and many nieces and nephews survive.
Beloved Mother and Grandmother, passed away at home on June 23rd at the age of 90. Born on the Island of Sao Jorge in the Azores, she emigrated to the US and settled in Gilroy in 1960. She was a homemaker and loved to cook. Her priority was to make sure everyone that came to visit was well fed. She was preceded in death by her husband George Pereira, her brothers Antonio, Raul, Miguel, Antero, Jose, Alberto, & Herminio and her sisters Emilia, Sabina, and Gabriela. She is survived by her sons and their spouses Antonio & Sabina Perry, George & Olivia Perry, her only granddaughter and husband, Elizabeth & Gino Rosa, all of Gilroy; a sister Maria Maciel of Sao Jorge, Azores and numerous nieces and nephews.
James Tryforos passed away peacefully on December 27, 2016 with family by his side. He is survived by his wife Olga Tryforos, son Demetrios Tryforos, daughters Maria Pharris and Carol Anderson. He is also survived by his son-in-laws, Dave Pharris and Todd Anderson, family friend Sam Swope, daughter-in-law Janet Wheeler and his grandchildren, Jessica and Austin Anderson, Ashlyn, Danielle and Landen Pharris, Kelly Holbrook and Mathew Wheeler.

Antonio "Tony" J. Reyes died last Friday in San Jose at the age of 62. He was born in Hollister and was a former resident of San Juan Bautista. He was a maintenance supervisor for ConAgra Foods in Gilroy and had served in the U.S. Army in the 1970s. Tony is survived by his devoted partner, Karen Shurden, of Gilroy and his 3 sons; Jason and Mario Reyes of Watsonville and Jordan Reyes of Gilroy, brother of Robert Reyes of San Martin, Jess Reyes of Reno and Tillie Todd of San Juan Bautista. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Merilyn died peacefully at home, after a long illness. A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Hollister, CA Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 3:00 P.M.
Royce Wayne McFadden, 62, passed away in a car accident in Limon, Colorado on July 5th. He was returning home from a dog show in Sedalia, Missouri where his Bichon Frise, Beau, won a four point major giving him his U.S. AKC Bichon Frise Championship.
