William Anthony Buchner

William "Bill" Anthony Buchner, born April 30, 1924 at his family's home in San Francisco, died May 9, 2007 in Gilroy. He was a 40 year resident of San Martin, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Antoinette Buchner and his brothers; Albert, Elmer, and Ray.

Jerry “Papa” Smith August 11, 1934 - March 4, 2012 Jerry “Papa” Smith passed away March 4, 2012 after a courageous battle with lung disease. Jerry leaves behind wife Julia of 59 years; daughters Patty Galdos (Butch), Dee-Ann Dike (Matt); grandchildren Tom (Jodi), Nathan (Sasha), Courtney Galdos (Phil); great-grandchildren Thomas, Ashley, Markus, Gage, Emily and Kinley Galdos; sister Reba Medeiros, sisters-in-law Helen Smith, Margarita Johnson; brothers-in-law Ernest Alvarado and Wally Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Edward W. Sargeant

Edward Walter Sargeant passed away at his home in Ridgemark Country Club, August 24, 2009 at the age of 87. Edward was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. His parents Fredrick and Ivy Sargeant settled in the Michigan area where Edward graduated from Green Bay High School. Enlisting early in World War II, he was a Navy medic who saw action in the South Pacific. While attending the University of Minnesota, he met his future wife, Charlotte Jean Vickers. Accepting a Regular Army commission he began a 30 year career training as a pilot and ending in 1979 with the rank of full Colonel. His assignments took him to Korea, Germany, Vietnam, as well as various posts around the United States. Upon retirement, he and his wife worked for Bell Helicopter in Iran for 1 ½ years.

Vigil services will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2014, at 3:30 P.M., at Habing Family Funeral Home, in Gilroy. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014, at 10:00 A.M., at St. Mary Catholic Church in Gilroy, followed by entombment at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park. Winifred Louise Saucier

Winifred L. Saucier, 88, passed away at her home in Corona, CA, where she had lived for the last four years. Winifred worked as Secretary to the Base Commander and Historian at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield before transferring to Honolulu, Hawaii, where she retired in 1976. Winifred was a life member of Mensa and actively involved in big sisters in Fairfield, CA and Honolulu, HI.

Jack Taylor

Jack Taylor entered into rest in Monterey, CA at the age of 73. He was born in Anderson, CA, and lived in Seaside for the last 30 years, moving from Redding. He worked for many years as a sales manager in the automobile business and was a member of The Redding Elks Lodge. He married his wife, Sharon, in 1994 in Pacific Grove and liked hunting, gardening and spending time at his cabin in Shingletown.
