GILROY—Christopher girls tennis swept doubles play on its way to a 5-2 win over Alvarez Thursday on the road.
The No. 2 team of Kelly Nantais and Cher Choi dropped their first set—and trailed 3-0 in both sets—but clawed their way back to win 4-6, 6-3, 10-7.
Toni Martinez and Samantha Ramirez, the No. 1 team, won 6-3, 6-4. The Cougars No. 3s, Allison Ramirez and Camryn Crowley, won their match 7-5, 6-4.
Niet Khay, playing in the No. 3 spot, won her match 6-3, 6-4. The Cougars’ No. 4 singles player, Malia Campos, won 6-3, 6-2.
Sydney Tran, Christopher’s No. 1, dropped her match 6-2, 6-4. Kaitlyn Lombardo dropped her first set 0-6, but rebounded to win 6-3. Unfortunately, the Eagles pulled out the ‘W’ in the tiebreaker 10-3.
Christopher will host its final home match of the season at 4 p.m. Tuesday against Salinas.
